Ohm's law says: V = I × R. Voltage (V) is the push that drives current (I) through a circuit, and resistance (R) is what opposes it. If you increase voltage, current increases (if R is constant). If you increase resistance, current decreases (if V is constant). Think of a water pipe: voltage is water pressure, current is water flow, and resistance is pipe thickness.
